Family & Psychiatry Support

Family Support
If the therapist feels that the client might hurt himself or someone else or when the client is put on psychopharmacological medication, family support becomes vital.

Parents / spouse / children / relatives are brought into the picture so that they can understand the situation and learn how to help the client.

Psychiatry Support
Should the therapist feel that the client needs a support structure beyond that available, the client is recommended to a psychiatrist.

The psychiatrist would then on the basis of the diagnosis, prescribe the required psychpharmacological medication. The therapist would actively monitor this process along with the psychiatrist until the psychiatrist feels that the medication can be reduced or withdrawn.
